The Java Fepow 1942 Club Marches On For Years To Come

The Java FEPOW 1942 is one of the last remaining active FEPOW clubs in existence. This is mainly due to the advancing years of the FEPOWs who run the clubs.

In order that The Java Club can continue for many years to come, it has been decided that the running of The Java FEPOW 1942 Club is taken over by a younger generation.

The Java Club’s Chairman & Treasurer, Bill Marshall, and Welfare Officer, Edward “Mac” McDaniel deserve a well earned rest after so many years hard work running the Club.

The new Chairman & Treasurer is Lesley Clark and the Club’s Secretary & Welfare Officer is Margaret Martin. They are both daughters of FEPOWs and have been committee members for some time. They will continue to produce the quarterly Java Journal, Lesley as Editor of the Newsletter and Margaret as compiler of members’ stories for inclusion in the ‘Special’.

But in order that the Club still receives FEPOW input into its running, Bill Marshall and Mac McDaniel have agreed to oversee the “girls” as President and Vice President.

Our Club’s ambition will remain; to further the FEPOW and FEPOW Families’ cause for as long as possible, remaining within the guidelines of our original Constitution & Rules.... “To reunite FEPOW members with old comrades, to help FEPOW families learn more of their parents’ wartime experiences (achieved through our book and the quarterly Java Journal) and to alleviate distress wherever possible with the assistance of our Welfare Officer.”
